It is always easy for us to give thanks to God when something miraculous or out of the ordinary happens to us.  Sometimes it is easy to give thanks to God for all the little things that happen.  It is even easy to give God thanks for the basic things in life such as health and breath.  But we sometimes forget to give Him thanks for all the other things.  The flat tires, the congested streets, the apples, the birds, for stubbing our toes in the dark. For our kids having snotty noses, for bad attitudes...Come on now Pastor, are we to give thanks for everything that goes wrong or for things that just take our very last nerve, and grind it into the dirt?  Eph. 5:20 says we should give thanks to God "in all things" and in 1Th. 5:18 it says "in everything give thanks."  So yes, when life's irritations beset you give thanks to God.  Ps. 66:13-14.  Oh by the way, after you have read these two texts go back and read verses 10-12.
